Alzheimer’s Orange County (AlzOC) hosted an unforgettable evening at VEA Newport Beach for this year’s annual gala, A Magical Soiree. With a gathering of 300 supporters, community leaders, and advocates, the night was filled with laughter, inspiration, and generous contributions to Alzheimer’s support services.
This magical evening was made possible through the vision and dedication of event co-chairs Carol and Andy Chaffee, Wendy and Larry Tenebaum, and Linda and Burton Young. Their passion for the cause and commitment to advancing Alzheimer’s support in Orange County were evident throughout the event. AlzOC is deeply grateful for their leadership and hard work.
The evening honored two outstanding partners: the Webb Family Foundation and Lugano. Both were recognized for their commitment to advancing Alzheimer’s support in Orange County. Their leadership and compassion have strengthened the work AlzOC does each day, and we were thrilled to celebrate their impactful efforts.
Guests enjoyed an electrifying performance by Justin Willman, the magician and star of Netflix’s Magic for Humans. Willman’s unique style and interactive magic added a lively and memorable touch to the night’s festivities.
The program included a special Tonight Show-style segment with Alzheimer’s Orange County President and CEO Jim McAleer, Executive Director of UCI MIND Dr. Joshua Grill, and Chief Medical Officer of the Healthy Brain Clinic Dr. Dung Trinh. Together, they discussed advancements in Alzheimer’s medications, strategies for reducing risk, and the future outlook for the disease.
“We’re incredibly grateful to all who attended and contributed to this magical night. Alzheimer’s disease hasn’t gone away, and until it does, we won’t either,” said Jim McAleer, President and CEO of Alzheimer’s Orange County. McAleer was also recognized for his 20 years of dedicated service and leadership to the organization during the event.
One hundred percent of funds raised stay in Orange County to support families, caregivers, and those impacted by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. From expanding community resources to offering critical education and support programs, the success of A Magical Soiree will leave a lasting impact on the local community.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this magical night possible. Each of you has played a role in advancing our mission and supporting our vision for a world without Alzheimer’s. Together, we are making a difference and look forward to continuing this journey with you.
