COVID-19 Care for Adults

NOW OPEN TO ADULTS POSTIVE FOR COVID-19 WHO REQUIRE ISOLATION

Alzheimer’s Orange County  has opened a 25-bed COVID-19 unit at Fairview Developmental Center for seniors living
with memory loss and adults who require isolation to prevent the spread of the virus. Participants can recover in our short-term
residential care unit designed to provide tender care until COVID-19 status resolves at no cost. 

Who? 

Adults over 18, older adults over 60 and individuals who are medically frail, have a disability or memory loss/dementia who are positive for COVID-19, with mild symptoms not requiring hospital-based care. Primarily for residents of Orange County, people from outside Orange County can be admitted with special approval.

What?

A 25-bed unit for adults over 18, positive for COVID-19, with mild symptoms of COVID, who cannot easily isolate in their current living situation to receive short term residential care until their COVID status resolves. Licensed as an RCFE (Residential Care Facility for the Elderly) and a RACS (Residential Alternative Care Site).

Where?

Building 29 on the campus of the Fairview Developmental Center, 2501 S. Harbor Blvd., Costa Mesa, 92626.

How?

How long?

Most residents stay a minimum of 10 days, up to 28 days, depending upon symptoms.

This is a short-stay facility. Residents will go back to their previous residence once their COVID status is resolved.

How much?

There is NO COST to residents or their families. Fees are covered by a collaboration between Alzheimer’s Orange County and the State of California.

How do people get there?

Residents approved for admission in Orange County will be transported via ambulance, ordered by the AlzOC COVID+ Care Unit staff.
