Alzheimer’s Orange County is proud to announce our first honoree of the 18th Annual Visionary Women Caregiver Awards. Meet Ruth Ann Rousseau, one of our Family Caregiver Honorees for this year’s event recognizing local Orange County dementia caregivers that exemplify compassionate care.
Ruth Ann Rousseau exemplifies the spirit of caregiving, balancing her professional life with her dedication to her parents. Caring for her mother with physical needs and her father with dementia, Ruth Ann visits their independent living home daily to assist with medical appointments, errands, and daily tasks. She may humbly downplay her role in caring for her parents, but those around her recognize the profound and positive impact she has on those she cares for as well as the community she is part of. A regular attendee of one of Alzheimer’s Orange County’s online caregiver support groups, she brings positivity and encouragement to fellow caregivers. Ruth Ann’s empathy and willingness to connect with others in need highlight her exceptional role in her parents’ lives and the caregiving community. We honor Ruth Ann for her unwavering commitment and compassionate spirit.
