Editor’s note: The text below was adapted from a letter addressed to Alzheimer’s Orange County.
My name is Tina Hernandez and my niece’s name is Kandi Ortega. Together, we have walked over II years straight and hopefully, if we stay well, in another month or two we will have accomplished 8 thousand miles! What kept us steady in the walks was when we decided to put change in our jars for each mile we walked. Alzheimer’s OC was the first jar.
My father, Thomas Ross Holme got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s before anyone knew what it was. He taught us a lot! Our love for him and the love for the great care he received is why this donation is expected every year. Thank you for being such a wonderful organization!
